In this clip, I\u2019ll explain how you can shift your mindset so selling your product or service doesn\u2019t feel pushy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"igaudio\">\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-4399-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/media\/MML\/DontPushIt.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/media\/MML\/DontPushIt.mp3\">https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/media\/MML\/DontPushIt.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The real secret to selling something is making authentic connections.<\/h2>\n<p>People make the mistake of thinking they have to be <a href=\"https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/youve-got-the-goods\/\">pushy in order to sell their product or service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t believe in that type of selling.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>Because it doesn\u2019t work!<\/p>\n<p>I have never sold my coaching services.<\/p>\n<p>I have only connected with other people and invited them to work with me.<\/p>\n<h2>Making connections is how you sell in a way that feels good, both to you and to the person you are connecting with.<\/h2>\n<p>In fact, it\u2019s best to focus on making connections <i>instead<\/i> of making sales so you don\u2019t come off as annoying.<\/p>\n<p>So how do you <a href=\"https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/networking-tools-and-authentic-connections\/\">make authentic connections<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Simply by being truly interested in what is going on with the other person.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s easy to understand why this is the best sales strategy when you think about what it feels like when someone is trying to sell you something.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s annoying!<\/p>\n<p>You just want to get away from that person.<\/p>\n<p>I know I do.<\/p>\n<p>Now think about how different the experience is when someone is genuinely interested in what you have to say.<\/p>\n<h2>A great place to start making authentic connections is with people you already know.<\/h2>\n<p>Start thinking about people you could reach out to from places like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Your neighbors and people you have met through them.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">People you meet at parties or other events, i.e. kid\u2019s sports games, concerts, etc.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Co-workers and people you meet in your job.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Acquaintances you make through your friend group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The way to <a href=\"https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/creative-solutions-networking-activities\/\">create an authentic connection with someone<\/a> is to check in with them and ask how they are doing.<\/p>\n<p>Ask how their family is doing.<\/p>\n<p>Find out what kinds of things they enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>In essence, take a genuine interest in what\u2019s going on in their life.<\/p>\n<p>Just be a caring human.
