In this audio clip, I\u2019ll give you a simple and fun formula for up-leveling your coping skills.<\/p>\n<div class=\"igaudio\">\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-4472-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/media\/MML\/CelebrateAndShift.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/media\/MML\/CelebrateAndShift.mp3\">https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/media\/MML\/CelebrateAndShift.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Healthy coping skills are necessary if you want to become a better and better version of yourself.<\/h2>\n<p>One of the coping skills I encourage my clients to adopt is <em>celebrating the little victories<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Because the small accomplishments are just as important as the big ones.<\/p>\n<p>And sometimes they have a bigger impact in the long run.<\/p>\n<p>Not to mention, when we <a href=\"https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/something-to-celebrate\/\">celebrate our victories<\/a>, we encourage ourselves to keep up the good work.<\/p>\n<h2>So, instead of becoming exasperated with yourself when you make an error or disappoint yourself in some way, make a choice to do something different, and then celebrate making that choice.<\/h2>\n<p>For instance, let\u2019s say you find yourself getting worked up about a <a href=\"https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/top-10-sources-stress-boss-isnt-list\/\">disappointing interaction with your boss<\/a>, a co-worker, a client, or your significant other.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than shake a finger at yourself like a judgemental parent, take a moment to acknowledge where you are, and then make a choice to take the necessary steps to shift your energy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s an example of how those steps might unfold:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Notice what\u2019s happening internally in your mind and body.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Stop whatever it is you are doing that you don\u2019t want to continue doing.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Close your eyes.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Take five deep breaths.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Recenter yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>And the most important part?<\/p>\n<h2>CELEBRATE that you have just made a conscious healthy shift in your mindset and\/or your behavior.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Here are a few things I consider worthy of celebration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Shifting your self-talk from self-critical to self-loving.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Handling a stressful phone call with tact and grace.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Taking a moment to notice a beautiful cloud or a light breeze on your face.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Not taking someone else\u2019s behavior personally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/internalgroove.com\/2023dev\/interesting\/\">Being judgemental<\/a> (especially toward yourself) has a tendency to keep you trapped in a negative loop.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why, when you stop yourself and take steps to come out of that negative loop, it\u2019s worthy of a celebration.<\/p>\n<p>It means you are making progress in the direction you want to go.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is your work situation frustrating you?
