Do you often feel like you have creative solutions to problems that other people are in charge of solving? If this is the case, you may be a secret entrepreneur. Learn more in this audio clip.
Many clients come to me with complaints about being in a corporate setting.
One common frustration is related to decision-making and problem solving.
Specifically, they feel they have creative solutions for problems that others are in charge of solving, and they feel frustrated that they aren’t the one making decisions.
These are usually the people who have entrepreneurial mindsets.
An entrepreneurial mindset happens in minds that like to come up with creative solutions.
They like to make something out of nothing.
This is why I believe that being an entrepreneur is one of the most creative things anyone can do.
Because one of the greatest entrepreneur qualities is the ability to come up with creative solutions.
It’s literally what happens in the world of entrepreneurship.
Some days, you show up with no idea what is going to happen, but you know you have to make something happen.
So you make it up.
That’s creative problem-solving at its finest!
Successful entrepreneurs don’t get paralyzed by fear of making the wrong decision.
They are willing to make decisions that may not lead to the desired result, because they know they can come up with another creative solution if things don’t work out.
Successful entrepreneurs are willing to admit when something doesn’t work, and then get busy making whatever tweaks, adjustments, or pivots need to be made to get things back on track.
Successful entrepreneurs know that when something doesn’t go as planned, it doesn’t mean anything about them personally.
They don’t assume it means they weren’t cut out for entrepreneurship. They just see it as an opportunity to get creative!
There are quite a few exercises I do with clients to help determine whether they will enjoy the challenges of entrepreneurship.
Once we get clear about that, self doubt slowly slips away as we work through any false assumptions about themselves they may be carrying.
