Do you feel you need validation or encouragement from others in order to feel good about yourself? If so, it’s a good time to start building internal confidence, because that can never be taken away from you. Here’s some good advice about how to become more confident from the inside out.
The problem with needing validation from others in order to feel good about ourselves is that, when no one is there to give us kudos, we feel inadequate.
Here’s the thing I want you to understand:
You are valuable no matter what anyone else thinks of you.
You are valuable no matter what mistakes you have made.
You are valuable just because you are alive.
But it doesn’t matter what I say or think. If you don’t believe those things about yourself, then uplifting words from another person might last for a while. But the good feeling will wear off eventually, leaving you looking for someone else to fill your cup of confidence.
The best way to build REAL CONFIDENCE is internally.
To become your own best advocate.
When you have a bank of positive thoughts and ideas about yourself and your intrinsic value, you never have to go anywhere else to get encouragement or validation.
That means, no matter what happens or what anyone else says, your confidence cannot be taken from you.
If you are someone who seeks external validation, I encourage you to put some effort into building your inner confidence.
Have a conversation with yourself every hour if you need to and remind yourself of all the reasons why you are worthy and valuable. Recall times in the past when you have felt proud of yourself, and remember the qualities that gave you that feeling.
There is no substitute for inner confidence, and you deserve to feel worthy and adequate no matter what.
