What Would You Do?

What Would You Do?

Do you feel a deep desire to make a difference in the world? To be filled with a sense of purpose? If you feel you are missing the passion or purpose in your life, you’ll find some clues here about how to discover the things that bring real satisfaction to your soul.

Living your life purpose has nothing to do with sitting on the couch watching the news and other programming for hours at a time.

Maybe you needed to hear that, even though it seems like a no-brainer.

Are you feeling lost in a world where you can’t seem to find your place?

Do you long for a life where you feel alive and filled with the things that are most important to you?

Having a purpose in life is something that, when it isn’t there, can bring up many unpleasant feelings. That’s why, for those of us who feel we are here to fulfill some purpose, it is so worthwhile to discover what that is.

If you’ve been struggling with this, I would love to share with you some of the ways you can begin to identify your real core values so you can begin to implement them in your life and/or career.

Self-discovery is the process that illuminates these things for us.

There are quite a few ways to uncover the desires that are often hidden underneath layers of old ideas and the programming of early life experiences.

Here are a few:

  • Reading a book or books that help you discover what brings you fulfillment.
  • Journal writing
  • Noticing what you do when you are not getting paid
  • Asking yourself the question: What do I really want? (This can pertain to your business or your personal life or some combination of the two).
  • Giving yourself space to just sit and be still, to think and listen to your heart, and to be creative.
  • Imagining what you would do if you couldn’t fail.
  • Determining what your top five values are (or what means the most to you).

You may discover that you simply want more fun, more joy, or more spontaneity in your everyday life; it doesn’t always have to be a business or career thing!

Taking some time to engage in a few or all of these activities will help you discover what it is that truly lights you up and makes you feel whole.
