Do you hold yourself accountable for meeting your daily goals? Here’s a simple old-school (but effective) method for making sure you get them done– every day!
Many of my clients come to me with the aim of holding themselves accountable.
Accountability is an empowerment strategy, and setting (and achieving) daily goals is a primary facet of accountability.
Do you set daily goals?
Do you struggle to accomplish those goals?
There are several methods for holding yourself accountable to achieve your daily goals.
You can:
- Hire a coach.
- Ask a friend to be your accountability partner.
- Keep a running to-do list.
Another method you can use easily is the post-it note priority method.
This is not a fancy tech way to meet your goals.
It’s old school.
All it requires is a pencil and a package of 2” X 2” post-it notes.
Make it exciting and get some fun colors!
I’m a big believer in planning the night before for your following day.
For entrepreneurs and professionals, a big part of that planning includes things that move the needle forward on your business.
I encourage my clients to narrow it down to the top three they can accomplish in a day.
These are their daily goals for the following day.
Next step— write each of those three goals on a post it note (one per note).
Now stick those three post it notes to your computer.
This ensures that they are the first thing you see when you sit down to get started with your work day the next morning.
So, before you start getting distracted by the bells and whistles of social media, calls, emails, or other “urgent” matters, while you have fresh energy and focus, you attend to the three most important priorities for the day.
Don’t put your energy into any other action until you have done each of your post-it-note priorities and removed the notes from your computer.
This is how to make your daily goals into priorities that get accomplished.
Sticking with the post-it-note priority method (no pun intended) of meeting your daily goals will ensure that you make steady progress by moving the needle forward in your business every single day.
Feeling stuck in a job you hate, but not sure what to do next?
You're not alone, and you don't have to figure it out on your own. Getting the right support can make all the difference.
