Cultivating Your Job Satisfaction Factors

Are you experiencing job burnout syndrome? Do your job satisfaction factors need an overhaul? Here, I’ll give you some possible ways to give yourself a job upgrade without having to find another job.

It’s a good idea to do periodic analyses of your job satisfaction factors.

It’s normal to feel the need to change things up several times over the course of your career.

That’s because our lives and lifestyles change as we go through different stages of life.

So if you are experiencing job burnout syndrome or you feel it is time for a job upgrade, rest assured this is not an uncommon occurrence.

The best thing you can do is be honest with yourself about it.

From there you can start taking steps toward constructing a more optimal work environment for yourself.

The easy answer to this quandary, of course, is beginning the search for a new job.

However, there are a variety of ways to make a job or career transition that do not involve leaving your current position.

It is possible to transform the job you have into a job you love!

Here are a few ideas:

  • You can renegotiate your current position or job description.
  • You can straddle two departments if you discover you have an interest in another area of the company.
  • You can renegotiate your compensation.
  • You can initiate a job share situation with a co-worker if you have other priorities like caring for an ill loved one or taking care of your children.
  • You can do some inner work. Sometimes our reactions to challenges cause more stress than the original challenge. Doing inner work involves working with your heart and mind to manage your reactions so you don’t get worked up in the moment to things that feel they aren’t right.

These are just a few of the ways you can stay with a company or job that has become monotonous, overwhelming, or otherwise unsatisfactory.

The main thing to consider when you want to increase your job satisfaction factors is that there are options besides simply leaving and/or searching for a new job.

Get creative.

And don’t be afraid to ask, even if you don’t believe what you want is possible or acceptable at your workplace.

After all, if you’re considering leaving anyway, you have nothing to lose!
