Losing or leaving a job can bring up a lot of emotion. This audio clip will help you start a success plan for finding your truth if you find yourself in a place of uncertainty between jobs.
One of the first things I help clients who have lost or left a job to do is discover the hidden gifts in the situation and start mapping out a success plan for their future.
This is a way of focusing on the positives rather than getting bogged down in negative thoughts and emotions that go along with being between jobs.
What do I mean by hidden gifts?
In many ways, it’s about finding your truth.
Here are some examples:
- Burnout recovery: If you were feeling frazzled and frustrated in your work, losing a job can give you a much needed space to pause and recover.
- Gratitude: If you were unhappy in the job you left, you have an opportunity to be grateful that you no longer have to deal with the stress it was causing you.
- An opportunity to start your own business: Maybe you have always wanted to have your own business, and now the universe is giving you a place to start.
- Self love recovery: If you haven’t been using your greatest strengths and gifts in your job, this is a great time to ask some deep questions about life. What skills in your toolbox are perfect for this occasion? What strengths, gifts and talents do you possess that you have not been using?
In many cases, if you are unhappy in your life or work, it’s because you haven’t been using your greatest strengths and gifts.
These are the unique skills and talents you have to offer the world and others (whether it is in your own business or someone else’s).
Finding the hidden gifts, and tapping into innate strengths you haven’t been using after leaving or losing a job is an important first step to developing a success plan for moving forward to create work that brings you real fulfillment.
Is your work situation frustrating you? Do you hate your job, but have no idea what to do instead?
