You can’t stand in your truth if you don’t know what it is. Do you know what it would look like to stand in your truth? If you have some uncertainty, you’ll get some coaching 101 for learning how to do that in this clip.
Often, my initial meeting with a client is a bit of a reframe, because
Some of my best career advice contradicts what their expectations are in that first coaching session.
I am your ideal career coach if you want to discover your true self and then create a career around that.
So, when clients come to our first session thinking they are going to be starting a new business or looking for a new job immediately, I have to gently remind them that our work together is far more deep and rewarding than jumping to the final answer will ever be.
Jumping to the final answer, i.e., grabbing the first thing that looks good from a state of urgency, desperation, or fear will only land you right back where you started.
That’s why I guide clients through a deep dive into self-exploration land before we even think about what their next move will be.
Taking the time to discover your true self is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
Unfortunately, I have found that most people don’t do this.
Whether it’s because they fell into a career early in life, had some family pressure to go into a certain field, or some other reason, there are many people who make it to 40 or 50 only to look around and discover that they don’t like what they are doing.
Doing a deep exploration around what really lights you up inside is the formula for real power when it comes to mapping a fulfilling career trajectory.
It also alleviates a lot of the uncertainty of starting a business, by allowing you to get crystal clear about the work you are meant to do.
There isn’t a doubt left in your body that it’s the right career path for you.
The real final answer can only come from a deep understanding of who you are at the core, and how you can use your greatest gifts to achieve your greatest potential.
Is your work situation frustrating you? Do you hate your job, but have no idea what to do instead? Attempting to navigate those waters without support is not fun (yes, I do know, but that’s another story). I’m excited to announce that I’ve created The Job I Love Toolkit, with all the resources you’ll need to finally clarify how to get paid to do you.TM To be the first to hear more details, join the VIP Wait List.
And if you know a friend or neighbor who could use hearing the advice in this article or needs The Job I Love Toolkit, please forward this to them.
