Is Self Care Important to You?

Is self-care important to you? Most people would say yes to that question, but that doesn’t mean they practice it. Here’s a good reminder of why prioritizing self-care is vital.

If you don’t practice conscientious self-care, your life will become unbalanced.

This is more important than ever during times of uncertainty.

Why is self-care important?

When our cup isn’t full and our safety feels rocked, we revert to survival mode.

Nobody operates at their best when they are in survival mode!

And everyone’s survival mode looks different.

For some people, survival mode means trying to control things.

For others, it can bring out perfectionistic tendencies.

Some may feel the need to figure everything out so they can solve the “problems” that are causing them to be in survival mode, while other people numb themselves out with television, alcohol, social media, or even work.

Practicing conscientious self-care as a rule (especially during times of uncertainty) can help balance your energy to bring (and keep) you out of survival mode.

It’s one thing you always have control of.
