The Formula For True Power

Do you know the difference in power and empowerment? Learn how I define the formula for true power in this audio clip.

My formula for true power is much different than the concept of power that is prevalent in today’s way of thinking.

I use the terms personal power, or self-empowerment, to define true power.

I teach my clients that the formula for true power is found in the quiet confidence that comes from a sense of inner strength.

This is far from the kind of power that is exhibited by banging on a desk, making noise, or using fear and intimidation to make a point.

The formula for true power is self advocacy.

It’s also how we do our best work.

Self-advocacy is one of your most important jobs!

In many instances, employees and entrepreneurs give their power away by not advocating for themselves.

Anytime you doubt yourself, sell yourself short, or behave as anything less than your own best advocate, you give away your power.

Do you wait for others to validate you?

Do you want someone else to have your back?

Do you lose confidence when you don’t get positive feedback from your boss or coworkers?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then you are giving up your power.

It’s time to take back your power by becoming your own best advocate.

Have a conversation with yourself about all the things you do that deserve to be celebrated.

Where have you made positive contributions?

Where have you been courageous and stretched yourself?

Where have you gone to the edge of your comfort zone or taken a risk?

Where have you gone the extra mile?

How have you made the company better?

Don’t wait for someone else to validate you for doing noteworthy things.

Take the time to celebrate them for yourself.

Acknowledge that you are valuable and celebrate your accomplishments.

This is the formula for true power!
