Does your workflow process take advantage of your power zone? If you’re not sure what I mean by this, you’ll appreciate finding out in this short audio clip. It could make a big difference in your productivity!
Efficient workflow processes are essential to daily operations if you want to end up feeling productive at the end of your workday.
One way to maintain an efficient workflow process is to determine when your power zone is.
Knowing and taking advantage of your power zone is a great self-management tool.
Power zones are times of day when you are at your sharpest, your freshest, and your most creative.
Most people have a couple of hours during the day when they are really in their groove.
Those hours represent their power zone.
It is so important to know what time of day this is for you.
It may be early morning, late morning, evening, or anywhere in between.
Since my power zone is in the late morning, I don’t do things that require a lot of brain power or creativity when I first wake up. I get up, have a cup of tea, do some writing (about things I’m proud of or grateful for), chat with my husband, or do light household chores.
I work from home, and in order to keep healthy boundaries, I don’t even walk into my office until 10:00 a.m. That’s when my workflow process begins, and it begins with power zone activities.
During my power zone time, I focus on things that move the needle the most for my business.
That may be planning, writing, brainstorming, or working on a new program or other project.
I never check email during my power zone time, and I recommend that practice for my clients as well. The reason is because checking email doesn’t require your sharpest brain and full creativity. You want to make the most of that valuable time by doing things that have the biggest impact.
If you don’t know when your power zone is, I encourage you to do some self assessment. Find out when your brain and creative flow are operating at their optimal level, and schedule your day accordingly.
