Can You Effectively Communicate Your Work Strengths?

Everyone has work strengths that are unique to them. Are you able to effectively communicate yours?

Creative freedom in the workplace is so important!

But, in many instances, in order to have creative freedom, YOU have to be the one to effectively communicate to your boss and team mates what your strengths and talents are.

Why is Creative Freedom in the Workplace So Important?

I strongly believe it is possible for everyone to do their job, attract revenue, and reach their goals and milestones in their own unique way. In fact, this is the most ideal way to do it!

It’s a big mistake for employers to assume that everyone does things the same way!

We’re all unique, and we all have different ways of doing things, i.e., we operate differently, we think differently; we have different patterns, strengths, and tools. All these disparities lead to different and unique ways of accomplishing goals and completing tasks.

Anyone who supervises, manages, or employs other people in their business can benefit from understanding this truth. Because when people are allowed to work in ways that feel good to them, they are more likely to stay motivated and take pride in the work they do.

Forcing or expecting everyone to do things the same way is a great way to de-motivate and devalue people.

Communicating Your Work Strengths for Self Empowerment

The flip side of this coin is the role YOU play in forging a path of creative freedom in your work. Your boss or manager may not immediately see your gifts or appreciate the way you do things. This does not mean the way you prefer to do things is wrong or lacks value. And it doesn’t mean you should assume you’re not allowed to work in a way that is optimal for you. It simply means YOU need to make sure they see the value in how you operate.

It is at least 50% YOUR responsibility to effectively communicate how you work best. Part of your job in any role and with any company is marketing yourself internally, and sharing openly about where and how you can make a valuable contribution.
