How is your self worth quotient? Where does your sense of self worth come from? If you are truly valuing yourself, there is only one right answer to that question.
In every facet of your life and career, a significant part of the formula for real power lies in how you are valuing yourself.
When you are truly valuing yourself, your self worth comes from YOU, not from other people.
I want you to get to a place where you feel good about yourself without any external validation.
How does it make you feel when I say that? What do you notice?
This is a topic that comes up frequently with my clients.
A fundamental part of my coaching strategy is helping them come to recognize and appreciate what is unique and special about them whether or not other people do.
Why is this important?
Because when you need the approval of others in order to feel good about yourself, you are much more likely to fall into the trap of people-pleasing, and that often leads to you not standing in your truth, i.e., not doing the things that bring YOU fulfillment.
Think of your self worth in terms of a well.
An integral component of any self love journey is filling your own well first.
Because, when you are able to offer yourself internal validation, it’s like the water that naturally flows into the well from the ground.
But imagine how much more challenging it would be to keep a well filled if you did it by pouring water into it from the top.
This is analogous to seeking external validation.
It will never fill your well.
When your sense of self worth is handled internally, any outside validation or acknowledgement is like frosting on the cake.
It makes it sweeter, but it’s not the main component.
Validation from others is an accessory.
Giving yourself internal validation is your most important job.
Because if you don’t do it, no one else will!
