Knowing your worth goes beyond the box of your business card. If you need a reminder that you are valuable in any circumstance, here it is.
When you know your worth, you value yourself at all times.
Not just when doing something you (or others) deem important.
Self worth development is a big part of my coaching process.
I often ask my clients who they are outside the box of their business cards to get their gears turning on this topic.
It’s easy to attach your value to the title you hold or the company you work for, especially in the corporate world.
However, genuine self-esteem is about valuing yourself regardless of what you do for a living.
You have value even when you’re doing nothing on a Saturday morning in your pajamas.
You have value if you make a mistake.
You have value if your business could be more successful.
You have value if you get fired or furloughed.
Anytime you feel unworthy, low, or blue, it’s an opportunity to practice self-forgiveness and to remind yourself that you are valuable regardless of what has happened.
A good tool for developing self-worth is writing a self-forgiveness letter.
Acknowledge that you did the best you could at the moment. Your past choices were made with the knowledge, perspective, and level of growth you had at the time.
Now you have a different level of growth and understanding, and you can forgive the former version of yourself for making different choices from the position you were in then.
Forgive yourself, love yourself, and know your worth.
