Does your career strategy include having fun? It should and here’s why.
It’s always good to ask yourself questions as you tread the path of a career that aligns with your life’s purpose.
You may ask yourself how much of a marketing budget makes sense at your stage of career growth.
Or what your short term and long term career goals are.
Or what brand colors make the most sense.
You may be surprised to learn that one of the best career strategy questions to ask yourself is, “Am I having fun?”
It might sound counterintuitive, but the things you have fun doing are usually the things that are in alignment with living your life purpose.
So, when you do those things, you are affirming something that makes life worth living to you.
These are the things I advocate for everyone to find a way to make money doing.
Because, the things we enjoy doing (because they are life-affirming) are the things we are good at.
And who doesn’t want to get paid for doing fun things they are good at?
It’s a no-brainer!
So, the next time you are feeling unmotivated, unfocused, or bored in your career, give yourself a little creative freedom and do what sounds most fun to you.
Now, of course, this includes things that will move the needle forward in your career.
It’s not about getting lost in the hole we call social media!
Make a list (if you need to) of all the things you could do right now to move the needle forward for your business.
Then pick the one that sounds the most fun.
It won’t feel difficult, and it will be something you are excited about.
Go ahead— have some fun, and watch your business grow!
