Self Worth and Your Job Search

Does the thought of a job search give you sweaty palms? Here’s an effective way to boost your self confidence for job search success.

A healthy sense of self worth is important to have when conducting a job search.

Cultivating self worth is not the same as going on an ego trip.

It’s about believing in the gifts and talents that make you valuable and unique.

Yes, skills are important too, but I like to make a distinction between skills and strengths and talents.

Strengths and talents are things you didn’t have to study in school to be good at. They just come naturally to you.

In my coaching practice, I have found that many people are unclear about what their natural strengths and talents are.

They mistakenly assume because they come naturally for them that they come naturally for everyone, so they swat them away and don’t give them the acknowledgement they deserve.

Do you know what your strengths and talents are?

Do you recognize the merit of the things that come naturally to you?

Do you count them as strengths or do you discount them because they seem easy for you?

One of the most valuable gifts you can give yourself is a natural gifts and talents assessment.

Having a keen understanding of these merits when conducting a job search will contribute to your self-confidence.

It will also allow you to present these strengths in a way that illustrates your potential value for the company you are interviewing with.

You are likely overlooking valuable tools you have collected over the years while you have been working, learning, growing, and living life.

Remember this: You are never too old to reassess and add to your toolbox!
