What Is Your Body Telling You?

What Is Your Body Telling You

Do you listen to your body’s wisdom when you have a big decision to make? Or do you try to think your way through it? If you are more of a thinker regarding life challenges, this audio clip will offer a gentle perspective on what important messages the body may contain.

In today’s world, most of us live above our necks, ignoring the vast sea of wisdom in the rest of our bodies.

I encourage my clients to develop practices that allow them to quiet their minds, tune in to their intuition, and hear what the body has to say.

It sounds a little esoteric, but the body holds wisdom that developed before we could reason or speak.

It’s a more profound wisdom, and listening to it can save time and heartache.

Here are some signs your body is trying to send an important message:

  • Your breathing gets shallow.
  • Your shoulders tighten up.
  • Your palms start sweating.
  • Your heart speeds up.
  • You feel a lump in your throat.
  • There’s a heaviness in your chest.

There are others, but you get the idea.

These somatic clues are how the body communicates (because it can’t speak).

When these things occur, it’s a good time to ask yourself why rather than ignoring them.

For instance, if you think about a specific skill set, gift, or strength, and your body starts talking, there is something to explore.

Maybe it’s a skill you are ready to move beyond or set aside as you move into the future.

Remember, your body is your ally (sometimes more so than your mind).

Understanding its language can help you gain valuable insight into your life and career path.

Give yourself permission to listen and act on what your body has to say!
